What Mochi sends over the internet

Mochi has no analytics, no usage tracking and no crash reporting. What you copy, capture, record, search for and type stays on your Mac. This page lists every time Mochi uses the internet.
When Mochi connects to the internet

Everything else works without a connection, including search, clipboard history, screenshots, recording, the editors, snippets, emoji and the calculator.

The writing tools in detail
The text you selected is sent to a service run by Mochi, which passes it to a language model and returns the result. The service does not keep a copy of your text or record what was sent. Its logs store the length of the text rather than its contents.
Text is only sent when you press the shortcut. Nothing monitors what you type or reads your documents in the background.
Using Mochi without any network access
- Do not use ⌥⇧C or ⌥⇧T. No other feature sends your content anywhere.
- Leave Fetch titles for copied links turned off.
- Turn off Check automatically under updates if you prefer to check manually.
- Everything else works normally on a Mac with no internet connection.
